DRAFTING EQUIPMENT HELP

Have you ever wander of what your students will be as of now. It was very amazing to see how students think of drafting class. Some of them thought that drafting is all about drawing but they were wrong. As my first year teaching drafting I can’t believe that sixth grade still have a miss understanding in drafting tools or equipment. It came to my mind that I need to teach them the drafting equipment first.
Here the list of drafting tools.
1.    Drafting tables: this table is used by the architectural to draw on or this is a table that the students are using for their drawing.

2.  Pencil and eraser: this is the pen that most architecture is using for drawing. They have different kind of pencil for border, labeling and even construction line e.g. 2h, 2b, 2hb, o.5, o.7.
3.   T-square: this is normally the equipment that use for drawing horizontal line.
4.  Triangles: there are different kind of triangles that use to draw such as 30, 45, 60 degree.

     5.   Templates: this tools help out in drawing detailed for the door, windows, circles etc.
       6.     Compass: this help student in drawing such as slope.
7.     Dusting brush: this is the brush that students will use to brush after erasing any mistake in their drawing sheet.
      8.     Erasing shield: this is a little metal equipment that helps out in erasing any mistake in your work to erase exactly what you want.
     9.     Drafting tape: this is the equipment that uses to stick your working paper to your drawing table in order to draw your work.
10. Scale: this use for measurement in every line that you use in your drawing.
However there are many other drafting tools that we need to learn about but as of now here are the only equipment that are available in our classroom that our students may use. I can’t believe that after we talk about this equipment my students knows how to use them throughout their drawing
